Who is Yolanda Osuna?

Yolanda Osuna Linares was born in Córdoba in 1981. She began dancing at three and first stepped onto a stage at just five, an early start that would shape the rest of her artistic career.

Career

She studied at the Conservatorio de Danza de Córdoba, where in 1999 she earned her degree in Spanish dance with top honors, also training with leading teachers such as Javier Latorre, Matilde Coral, Milagros Mengíbar and Blanca del Rey, and for a time joining Latorre’s own company. She has shared the stage with artists such as Mayte Martín, Miguel Poveda, Arcángel, Chano Lobato, Julián Estrada and Esperanza Fernández, and has performed at festivals in Barcelona, Madrid, Zaragoza, Jaén, Burgos and Badajoz, as well as in theaters such as the Central in Seville, the Liceo Alphonse Daudet in Nîmes and the Real Coliseo Carlos III. In 2004 she toured Italy with the show “Pasión flamenca.”

In 2005 she founded her own flamenco school in Córdoba, from which she has also taught classes in cities such as Vienna and various locations in Italy, in addition to working as a teacher at Carmen Blanco’s academy and at civic centers in Córdoba.

Style and recognition

A non-Roma bailaora with solid technique, she has won awards such as the “Antonio Hidalgo” at the national fandango competition in Lucena, the “Jóvenes flamencos” prize from the Diputación de Córdoba, the national sevillanas competition of Villa de La Carlota, and honors at the national competitions of Ubrique and Cádiz, as well as reaching the final in such demanding contests as the Nacional de Córdoba and the Cante de las Minas de La Unión.
