Who is Pepe Núñez?
José Núñez Palomo, Pepe Núñez, was born on 22 February 1962 in Madrid. A non-Roma player with a flamenco calling, he began playing guitar at age eight and over time developed a technique that adapts with great precision to the style of each singer he works with.
Career
He accompanied singer Manuel Gerena for five years, a formative stage that proved key to his career, and has also played alongside artists such as Cancanilla de Marbella and Chato de la Isla. His activity has taken him to perform in countries including France, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Japan, England and Scotland, as well as taking part in singing competitions, a couple of films, and various recordings and television appearances.
Style and discography
Settled for years in Parla, he runs a local academy where he teaches flamenco guitar, and remains a regular presence at peñas and festivals in the Madrid region, combining teaching with concert performing and accompanying singers.
Legacy
