Who is José María Ruiz?

José María Ruiz is a singer born in La Puebla del Río (Seville) who has loved football and music since he was very young. He first became known to audiences in Seville on the show “Menuda Noche,” hosted by Juan y Medio, before achieving national fame.

Career

He auditioned for the second season of La Voz Kids (The Voice Kids Spain), where he impersonated artists such as María Parrado, Raúl “El Balilla” and Gemeliers. Coached by singer Manuel Carrasco, he made it through gala after gala to win the Grand Final, beating the teams of David Bisbal and Rosario Flores. His personal way of giving every song a flamenco flavour became his trademark.

Notable discography

After signing a record deal with Universal Music, he made his debut with the album “Y ahora” (2015), which includes an introductory song co-written with Manuel Carrasco and flamenco-tinged covers of songs by artists such as Vanessa Martín and India Martínez.
