Niña Pastori

Who is Niña Pastori?
Niña Pastori, the stage name of María Rosa García García (San Fernando, Cádiz, 1978), is a Spanish singer whose flamenco-rooted voice has extended naturally into pop and other popular genres. Raised in the flamenco environment of Cádiz, she was in contact with essential figures of the flamenco scene of the Bay of Cádiz from childhood.
Her stage name was given to her by Camarón de la Isla himself, who mentored her early on and played a decisive role in introducing her to the flamenco world.
Career
Her debut album, “Entre dos puertos” (1996), produced by Javier Limón, marked her official presentation and confirmed the enormous expectations that had built around her. In the following years, albums such as “Cañailla” (2001) and “Joyas prestadas” (2005), a tribute to great popular songs reinterpreted in a flamenco style, significantly expanded her audience beyond the traditional flamenco circuit.
Niña Pastori has collaborated with artists from very different styles, from pop to the purest flamenco, establishing herself as one of the voices with the greatest fusion ability in contemporary Spanish music.
Legacy
Niña Pastori is one of the main heirs of the Bay of Cádiz cante school, able to preserve the essence of flamenco while connecting with much wider audiences than those of traditional flamenco. Her career places her among the most influential Spanish singers of the last three decades.
