Pablo Carbonell Sánchez-Gijón was born in Cádiz on July 28, 1962. In the early 1980s he formed a duo with Pedro Reyes in Huelva, where he lived at the time, and appeared on the iconic children’s program “La bola de cristal.” He is a cousin of actress Aitana Sánchez-Gijón.

In 1985 he founded the band Los Toreros Muertos with Galician musician Moure and Argentine Guillermo Piccolini, active until 1992, which he fronted for hits like “Mi agüita amarilla.” At the same time he built an acting career in Spanish cinema, and later directed the film “Atún y chocolate” (2004). With Eva Salmerón he co-wrote the novel “Sinsáhara,” first published by Microscopía del Papel and later included in Editorial Santillana’s Punto de Lectura collection.

His television work has been equally prolific: he was a reporter on the Cuatro program “Un equipo,” a comedic contributor on Buenafuente’s show on Antena 3, a judge on the talent show “Tú sí que vales,” and in 2008 joined the cast of the series “Hospital Central.” Between September 2008 and January 2009 he hosted “El intermedio” on La Sexta on Friday nights.
