Who is Cristina Perales?

Cristina Perales Botia (Valencia, April 23, 1970) is a Spanish actress best known for her work in film and television, which she has combined with music at various points in her career. Before turning to acting she studied Journalism in Madrid, graduating in 1994, and briefly worked in that field.

Career

Her earliest musical venture was as a member of the rock band Los Garfios, formed in 1990, with whom she recorded an album released only on vinyl and toured. Once established as an actress, she debuted in 1994 with the Teatres de la Generalitat Valenciana and went on to take roles in film and television, including a long run on the series “El Comisario” and appearances in films such as Vicente Aranda’s “Juana la Loca.”

In 2006 she returned to music with songs by composer Sergio Sanz, recording a jazz album titled “Pequeña,” released in 2008. The record marked a one-off return to the music stage for a performer whose career has otherwise unfolded mainly in Spanish film and television.
